Economic and trade situation

The economy of the city is dominated by the agricultural activity, where the production of a widevariety of vegetable products, and more particularly the primeurs.

The quantities produced havepassed at the level of market wholesale fruit and vegetables Sayada, of regional importance. In addition to farming, the wilaya has 41 trawlers and 113 tradesmen operating in the fisheries sector,it remains the wilaya 2nd nationally in fish production.

Noting also that the wilaya has a fairly large commercial port or transit approximately 520 ships ofgoods per year.

As regards the sector of the industry it is imperative, in our view, to revive this sector by creatingother areas of activities and an industrial area meets the needs of different applications of investmentmade by economic operators at the various committees of the calpiref.

The wholesale market: This structure spanning an area of 10ha has 134 pavilions for resale wholesale.

There is an important daily flow where availability of fresh, daily quantities are of the order of :

However this structure and despite an operation of rehabilitation for a 134 million DA remains inadequate and requires other refurbishments and development of the network of internal circulation, the installation of new equipment for storage, weighing, cleaning, transportation, and the productionof structures in the sector of Finance (Bank, insurance, post) and security (security). If the wholesaleactivity is carried out at the level of this structure, the wilaya has also of a distribution circuit at retailfor the sale of fruit and vegetables.

The markets covered This circuit consists of 37 covered markets and proximity covering the whole of the territory of thewilaya. In this framework, and for the efficient management of these structures,
