Culture and Heritage
The wilaya of Mostaganem has a culture house (960 places), a regional school of fine arts, a green theater, 04 libraries including one recently réceptionnée university and 36 cultural centers spread all the communes of the Wilaya.
Cultural activity is characterized by the organization of three annual festivals that are important national amateur theater festival (Mostaganem) and that of the Bedouin song (Ain Tedeles) and commemoration of Sidi Lakhdar Benkhlouf.
it is a mystical city renowned for its holy marabouts, its scientists and scholars in the fields of religion and theology they are a clean fantastic features to Dahra region where buried according to popular belief, over forty - four saints known as the "Rabaa or rabiine (forty four) chéchias" or "El Majaher". The city is also known for Sufi poetry, this art form is performed by several traditional music associations.
The city also referee several Sufi brotherhoods such as Zawiya alaouia, her native history suburb Tigditt. This important brotherhood named after its founder, Ahmad Al Alawi, author of many books in the field of theological research

Monuments and Sites:
Among the historical sites and monuments include:
The ancient town of Mostaganem dating from the 16th century, which contains a Casbah, like all medieval towns of the Maghreb with secular neighborhoods (Tobana, Matmore and Tijditt). The Tobana area is protected by the Arab walls to the west and Turkey to the east. Other heritage elements: the citadel of Bordj El hal Me (1082), which was the administrative center of the city, Bordj Ettork, the Folk Museum, also known as Dar al-Quaid, which dates from the Ottoman period The great mosque of Tobana built in 1340, listed in 1979 ,. The palace of Bey Mohammed El Kebir, the mausoleum of Bouchlaghem Bey, Sidi Lakhdar benkhelouf and the garden of Sour.

-Zaouia Bouzidia in Mostaganem, Kharrouba
